The Operation for HOPE Foundation believes by encouraging positive social change, we can reach those in need with a special focus on youth and families who’ve been impacted by family violence. Partnering with Difference Makers International for leadership training at Southwest High School, 400 students made a strong stand against family violence in their community by posting a San Diego Family Justice Center Awareness Poster—depicting Pro Skateboarder Tony Hawk a professional athlete, as a healthy mentor and role model—in classrooms. The students helped raise awareness about the services available at the San Diego Family Justice Center. Among other benefits, the Ceremony has helped to reduce the incidence of teen suicide, eradicate bullying, build positive relationships, inspire productivity, and encourage clear expressions of appreciation, respect and love for others.
